Due to continual snow accumulation and increasing wind speeds, The School District of North Fond du Lac will be shutting down early today, Tuesday, February 9th.

• Horace Mann High School & Bessie Allen Middle School will release at 12:37p.m.
  
• Early LearningCenter will release at 1:10p.m.
  
• FriendshipLearningCenter will close at 1:30p.m. 
  
• There is no afternoon 4K.
  

Also all evening events will be canceled and
rescheduled at another time.

The School District of North Fond du Lac serves approximately 1250 students in grades K-12.   Located just a short distance from the Fox Valley, the community has evidenced a strong commitment to education through the funding of extensive remodeling projects and the construction of a new high school (2000) and a new competition football/track and field complex (completion August 2010). District initiatives include researched based, best practice work revolving around Professional Learning Communities for staff and differentiated instruction for students.  The Early Learning Center (Early Childhood – 4K and Kindergarten), Friendship Learning Center (Grades 1 - 5), Bessie Allen Middle School (Grades 6 – 8) and Horace Mann High School (Grades 9 – 12) comprise the educational facilities in addition to an Alternative Learning Center for high school age students.   Small class sizes, a dedicated and enthusiastic staff and endless extra-curricular opportunities ensure that this progressive school district is poised for continued growth and excellence well into the future.

Michelle (Mickie) Spencer-Fink has been selected as the new School Resource Officer (SRO) for the School District of North Fond du Lac.  Officer Spencer Fink replace Sergeant Donovan Heavener who received a promotio will remain with the NFDL PD as 3rd shift supervisor.  Sergeant Heavener did a great job developing the SRO program for the past 4.5 years.  The District is grateful for his service and looks forward to his continuing role as head boys' and girls' soccer coach.

School Resource Officer Michelle (Mickie) Spencer-Fink has been a police officer with the Village of North Fond du Lac since September of 2004. During her time with the department she has been assigned to the patrol division and is currently a member of the Tactical Response Team. Mickie has received specialized training in several areas including; Crime Free Multi Housing, Police Mountain Bike School, Basic and Advanced S.W.A.T. and Sexual Exploitation of Children.

Prior to becoming a police officer, she worked as a Tae Kwon Do instructor for Martial Arts America, a retail sales manager and a flight attendant. Officer Spencer-Fink graduated from Goodrich High School and attended U.W’s. Fond du Lac and Oshkosh. She is currently enrolled at Marian University and will be graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Officer Spencer-Fink is an identical twin. Her sister is a police officer in the City of Fond du Lac.

Welcome to our new internet home!  In an effort to better serve our students, family, community and staff, the District has revamped the website and added many features to best reflect our dedication to communicate and promote our District.  Our old websites will still be functional (but not up-dated).  To get to these pages, just click on the link at the top of each school's homepage.

This web platform will also allows to move toward more access of classroom materials and lessons for students that are absent and for parents that are interested!  Beginning next year, all families and students will have login and passwords, allowing for this web-platform to sync with many calenders, class schedules and activities.  Stay tuned for more information on this feature in the spring and summer.
